PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
CAST-ON & SET UP
With main color, chain 36 sts.
Slip Stitch into the first chain stitch to join in the round, being careful not to twist your stitches.
Single crochet into each stitch of your chain to create your foundation round (36 sts).
Clip a removable stitch marker in the first st of the round to mark the BOR, and in every 12th st after to track repeats (optional). Move these markers up at the start of each new round.
BODY OF COZY
IMPORTANT: Based on the gauge, this pattern is 36 sts around, which requires a "half chart" or 12-stitch repeat Doodle chart. This pattern is also worked in a spiral, so that you don't have a break/jog at the BOR that will disrupt your chart (as opposed to using a slip stitch and chain 1 at the beginning of each round).
Are you NEW to crochet? If you’re really new to crochet (welcome fellow knitters!) I recommend making your FIRST crochet cup cozy plain just to learn the technique of crocheting in center single crochet.
Continue working around your cozy in CSC, either in a single color or following a Doodle chart, until the cozy measures approx. 4in [10cm], approx. 18 rounds, or desired height of cozy.
FINISHING
Once you complete your colorwork chart, continue CSC plain for 2-3 rounds.
You’ll notice that the last round appears uneven at the BOR. To fix this, slip stitch into the next 2-3 stitches (which will pull the two heights together).
Break yarn and pull through the loop to fasten off.
Weave in any loose ends and block lightly.
