PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS

CAST-ON

With smaller needles and lower ribbing color, cast on according to yarn weight using long tail cast-on (or preferred method).

  • Worsted: 36 sts
  • DK: 48 sts
  • Sport: 60 sts
  • Fingering: 60 sts

If using magic loop or DPNs, divide stitches evenly across needles.

Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist sts and place marker for BOR.

LOWER RIBBING

Work twisted ribbing (k1tbl, p1) or preferred ribbing style to end of round.

Continue working in the round in twisted ribbing for 4 rounds total (or desired height).

BODY OF COZY

Switch to larger needles.

If you want to work in PLAIN KNITTING:

  • Continue working in the round, knitting all stitches on all rounds, for 15-20 rounds, or until cozy is close to desired height (remember you will also be adding ribbing on top).

If you want to ADD COLORWORK:

  • Knit 1 round in lower ribbing color.
  • Join your contrast color(s).
  • Knit in colorwork in the round, according to the height of your chart(s).
    • NOTE: Aim for 15-20 rounds in colorwork, or until cozy is close to desired height. Remember you will also be adding ribbing on top.

Break all yarns except color you will use for upper ribbing.

Knit 2 rounds in upper ribbing color.

UPPER RIBBING

Switch to smaller needles.

Work twisted ribbing (k1tbl, p1) or preferred ribbing style to end of round.

Continue working in twisted ribbing for 4 rounds total (or desired height to match lower ribbing).

FINISHING

Bind off in-pattern, weave in your ends, and block to desired dimensions.
