The Edinburgh Destination Doodle was inspired by misty mornings in Edinburgh Old Town, set to the sound of bagpipes! Grab some shortbread biscuits, get cozy, and get ready to knit some classic plaid, adorable coos, and maybe even catch a glimpse of Nessie!

The 13 Edinburgh Charts are Thistle, Sheep, Highland Cow, Loch Ness Monster, Sprig of Heather, Bagpipes, Whisky, Scottish Terrier, Edinburgh Castle, Victoria Street, The Forth Bridge, and two Plaids.

This is a Doodle Series Pattern, which means it includes micro charts intended to be used as mix-and-match colorwork motifs throughout the project. Use the charts in this pattern, or you can substitute ANY other Doodle charts!

This pattern is worked in the round as a tube, from side to side. Beginning with a provisional cast on, the stranded colorwork is then knit to desired finished circumference. Then the two ends are grafted together for a seamless infinity cowl, with or without a twist.

Approx. 14, 18, 22 (26, 30, 34) in [36, 46, 56 (66, 76, 86) cm] finished cowl circumference.

YARN

Any DK, light worsted, or sport weight yarn that meets gauge. Doodles are designed to use leftover yarn, yarn advents, or any other small batches of colorways in your stash. Yarn shown is a suggestion from the Designer. Alternative yarns are encouraged.

Sample uses Cookston Crafts Double Knit Merino Nylon, 75% Superwash Merino 25% Nylon, 100 g skeins, 246 yards [225  m]

NEEDLES

US 5/3.75 mm or size needed to obtain gauge

24 in [60 cm] circular needles

GAUGE

24 sts and 24 rounds per 4 in [10 cm] in colorwork

NOTIONS

Stitch markers (one in different color)

Spare circular needle for grafting of same size or smaller

Waste yarn and crochet hook for provisional cast on

Scissors & Tapestry needle
