How to Add a Test Knit Project to Ravelry

Want to learn how to add a test knit project to your Ravelry? Whether you are testing knitting for Pacific Knit Co. (welcome!) or test knitting for another designer - the process is very simple and we've laid out all the steps for you here.

Want to hear about all of Pacific Knit Co.'s test knitting opportunities? Sign up for our newsletter to stay up-to-date on all our announcements!

STEP 1

Log in to your Ravelry account, and go to your Projects Page.

Click on "add a project", just as you would for any other project you want to catalog on Ravelry.

STEP 2

On the project information page, designate it as "knitting" and name your project.

Click on "I used a pattern".

In the "Enter the pattern name" field, enter the TEST CODE that was in the email you received at the start of the test knit period.

Hit "Continue".

STEP 3

And that's pretty much it!

Once the pattern is released, and the listing goes live on Ravelry, anyone who used this code in their "pattern name" will automatically see their project page update to link to the live pattern listing.

Note: if you want your project to link to the live pattern listing, you must use the test code. Do not manually type the pattern name into the "Enter the pattern name" field, as this will not automatically update when the listing goes live.

If you want to confirm that you have entered the test code correctly, click on the "link" icon next to "Pattern name". If everything is correct, it will give you a little box that specifies it as a "Test for Jamie Lomax" (or whichever designer you are working with).

And you're all set!

If you want to try this out yourself now, feel free to use the test code shown in the photos above - it's a real test code but it doesn't link to a published pattern so you can play around with it as much as you want.

Remember, the only way to hear about all of Pacific Knit Co.'s test knitting opportunities is to sign up for our newsletter!
