Ursus Cowl, Reversible

This cowl is inspired by the collaboration between my sister (a yarn dyer) and myself (a designer). We are both PNW locals who love the mountains. The image of the bear is fitting for our first design together, as she is Bear Wool Fiber. This cozy, double thick cowl is fun to knitand the tiny bear face is incredibly cute!

Suggested Yarn

• 3 skeins of Worsted weight yarn
• Malabrigo – Rios (Worsted 4 ply), 100% Superwash Merino Wool, 100g skeins, 210 yds/192 m
• Sample: Pines (green) and Sand Bank (tan)

Approximate Yardage

• 460 yards (420 m) in MC
• 250 yards (228 m) in CC

Suggested Needles

• US 5/3.75mm or needles to obtain gauge
• 24in (60cm) circular needles

Gauge

• 22 sts and 26 rows per 4in/10cm in colorwork

Constrution

• The pattern is knit in the round, from a provisional cast on, using purl row for edges, and then grafted together using a kitchener stitch to provide adouble thick, revisable finish
